Courtney Ruth Riley, 17, Stratford, Prince Edward Island
On August 24, 2001, our daughter Courtney was finishing her final day of work with the Young Environmentalist Program. Part of her job entailed traveling in her supervisor’s car along with her co-workers to each job site. Her supervisor did not have a chauffeur’s license or defensive driving skills. As they were leaving a wrap up barbecue to return to the office to finish the day, the car she was in was struck by a truck hauling a large flatbed trailer. She was killed instantly.
Courtney was a quiet, caring girl. She had a great sense of humour, could always make you laugh, was interested in art and music, loved animals, especially her dog Gizmo. We miss her beautiful smile, sparking blue eyes, but most of all we miss Courtney. Forever in our hearts and minds. |
