Gary died after falling 100 feet while working in an underground mine on April 9, 1969. Police were not notified until the following day, hampering investigation efforts. An inquest into Gary’s death found that the hole through which he fell was not properly guarded. The inquest also recommended that work should cease, the police should be called immediately and a proper investigation should take
place following a workplace incident. |
